Our thanks to all who submitted songs. Our membership has now created over 90 original songs about Bristol Bay and the fight to stop the proposed Pebble Mine!
The submission period for the contest ended December 31, 2016. We are now in the process of judging. The reporting schedule has been adjusted and contestants will now be notified of who has moved on to the semi-finalist round by April 30th. Winners will be announced by May 31, 2017. Thank you to everyone who submitted. We are blown away by the quality of the work!

Rules for Entering the Musician’s United To Protect Bristol Bay (MUTPBB)
Bristol Bay Songwriting Contest
The deadline for song submissions is December 31, 2016 at midnight.
All entries submitted must be original songs and shall not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Songs may have multiple co-writers, but only one name may be designated as the Entrant on the entry form. Entrant shall, by entering, indemnify and hold MUTPBB harmless from and against any claims inconsistent with the foregoing.
Entrant retains all ownership rights to all submitted song(s). MUTPBB will not have any ownership rights to any song(s) submitted.
MUTPBB is open to all amateur and professional songwriters and anyone regardless of nationality or origin. Employees of MUTPBB and their its families are not eligible. If entrant is under 18 years old, the signature of a parent or guardian is required.
Entrants may submit as many songs as desired as long as they comply with the qualifications of the category entered. A separate application form is required for each entry. And each song may be entered in only one category, General Submissions or Alaskan Submissions. Entrants agree by entering, to conform to the rules and qualifications of the contest.
Entrants to the Alaskan category must either have been born in Alaska or currently hold Alaska as their primary state of residence.
Winners may be required to sign an affidavit confirming that winner's song is original and he/she holds rights to the song. Winners in the Alaskan Category may be required to prove claim of birth or residency in Alaska. Failure to sign and return the form within the required time period or provision of false information may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Affidavits are subject to verification by MUTPBB and its agents.
Songs may be submitted as Mp3, youtube link or vimeo link only. Be sure to upload a legible copy of the lyrics.
MUTPBB reserves the right to extend the entry and judging deadlines.
Entries will be screened by an MUTPBB listening committee who will select the finalists, and the finalists will be sent to the judges who will select the winners. The judging committee consists of music industry professionals, producers, and artists. Songs are judged equally on melody, composition, originality, and lyrics.
MUTPBB 2016 semi-finalists and finalists will be announced in March, 2017 and winners in April, 2017. MUTPBB will post all results on its website and will notify entrants by email that results are posted. Entrant is responsible for providing up-to-date and correct email addresses and phone numbers to MUTPBB. MUTPBB is not responsible for entrant's non-receipt of any MUTPBB emails for any reason, including but not limited to, server or email malfunctions.
MUTPBB will use its best efforts to announce the winners at the designated time, but will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays. Winners will be notified by email and phone.
Entry constitutes permission to use winner's name, likeness, and voice on the MUTPBB website and for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
All winners agree to release MUTPBB and sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won. All federal, state, and local taxes, and customs fees, when applicable, are the sole responsibility of winner. MUTPBB will not pay any winners' taxes or custom's fees. Prizes will be sent out within a reasonable amount of time, and MUTPBB will use its best efforts to send prizes out in a timely fashion.
By entering MUTPBB, entrant and/or their parents or legal guardian (if such entrant is a minor) agree to accept and be bound by the decisions of MUTPBB and its judges which are final and binding in all matters. Entrant agrees to be bound by all terms of these official MUTPBB Rules and Regulations as established herein.
